Club Only Competitions
To foster competition and provide club members with qualified judging feedback, QUAFF each year holds a series of Club Only Competitions (“COC”). QUAFF COC’s are FREE to enter for dues-paid club members.
The Best of Show first, second, and third place winners of each COC are recognized at our monthly general QUAFF meetings. Entrants earn points in the races for the coveted titles of QUAFF Homebrewer of the Year, QUAFF Fermentationist of the Year, and QUAFF Rising Star. Here is the 2026 Club Only Competition lineup:

Rules and Procedures
-
- Club Only Competitions are FREE for current, dues-paid QUAFF members.
- Entries must NOT be brewed on a professional system.
- To ensure that a fresh sample is available for Best of Show judging, two (2) bottles are required per entry.
- All entries must adhere to the deadlines for registration and drop off as listed on each COC’s competition website.
- A club member MAY enter more than 1 entry (including co-brewed entries) in the same sub-style, so long as each entry is unique enough to be judged as a separate entry.
- A maximum of 3 entries per competition per track will COUNT FOR SCORING PURPOSES. See Scoring Eligibility below.
- Entries that are not eligible for COC points will NOT advance to Best of Show.
- Failure to comply with these rules and procedures may result in disqualification from the competition.
- Each entry will receive back at least two completed scoresheets. Scoresheets are available for download through the competition software following announcement of results.
- Results will generally be announced at the next monthly QUAFF general meeting following the entry deadline, after which results will be sent to the QUAFF email list.
- If you need clarification on any of these rules, please email clubonly@quaff.org
Scoring Eligibility
-
- Members may submit as many entries as they would like in each COC for feedback purposes.

- IF an entrant has more than 3 entries, the first three registered (chronologically) will count for scoring purposes UNLESS an earlier entry is marked as “DO NOT COUNT FOR COC POINTS” in the registration notes.
- For purposes of chronological registration, entries where a brewer is listed as co-brewer will be considered last (regardless of when they were registered) unless otherwise noted in registration as described above.
- Where an entry is submitted on behalf of multiple club members, the rules above regarding co-brewed entries will apply for all listed co-brewers.
